💧 Turning Air into Water: Visualizing H2E

I created an animation for X Company’s early-stage project H2E (“Hydration to Everyone”), which explored innovative ways to provide safe drinking water from the air.

The animation uses a technical line drawing style to clearly communicate the concept. Colored airflows, blue for cold, red for hot, show how air moves through the device, helping to visualize how moisture is captured and condensed into drinking water.

H2E wasn’t just a product, it was a full research initiative. The team developed geospatial tools to map where these devices could meet daily water needs and shared their findings in the H2E Collection, enabling others to build on their work.

Being able to translate such an early stage, visionary idea into a clear, visual narrative was a highlight of this project. Animation can make complex concepts tangible, turning airflow, condensation, and geospatial strategy into a story anyone can understand.

X is an independent “moonshot” company, spun out from Google X, turning ambitious, sci‑fi level ideas into real world solutions for the planet’s toughest challenges.
